The brief
Sarah and Tom had a dark galley kitchen and a garden nobody used. They wanted one open room across the back of the house, two sets of doors, and a budget they could actually hold to. They had been quoted by three builders and had no way to compare what was included.
What Silo did
We broke the job into six priced stages before anyone started. The full £40,000 was funded into Silo Technology on day one and released stage by stage on sign-off. One Silo crew ran the whole thing, with the daily record posted into the app.

Stage 01
Weeks 1–3
Groundworks & footings
Existing patio lifted, footings dug to building control depth, drainage rerouted around the new corner. Inspector signed on the Thursday.

Weeks 3–6
Shell & steel
Blockwork to wall plate and the steel in over the old back wall. Rain put two days on the programme, flagged in the app the morning it happened.

Weeks 6–8
Roof, lantern & watertight
Warm roof built up, lantern set, doors in and the building closed. This is the stage clients feel — the room exists.

Weeks 8–10
First fix M&E
Electrics, plumbing and underfloor heating. Sarah added four sockets and moved the island feed — priced in the app at £1,450 and approved before the change was made.

Plaster & screed
Boarded, skimmed and screeded over the underfloor heating, then left to dry on a schedule the app kept everyone honest about.

Second fix, decoration & handover
Kitchen fitted, floor laid, decorated and snagged. Eleven snags raised in the app, all closed within nine days. Final payment released on the client's sign-off.
